ADMISSION AND ACCESSIBILITY

Children and students are FREE

Admission for adults, including seniors is £2.50

Your contribution helps to keep us open, and allows us to maintain our collection of artefacts, and the building itself. It is also a condition of our Service Level Agreement with local government.

Dogs may be admitted by discretion of stewards especially if carried or assistant animals. Please check.

THE STABLES (ground floor) is suitable for wheelchairs.

Unfortunately, due to the layout of the buildings, THE COTTAGE is currently only accessible for smaller chairs. We are planning alterations to the LINK in order to improve the situation. The HAYLOFT is only accessible by the staircase, unfortunately.

We will be pleased to show you information and photographs of exhibits in The HAYLOFT (first floor) if you are unable to use the stairs.

We ask that you leave buggies and pushchairs outside the museum. If you have any large bags or rucksacks, these can be left at reception – at the discretion of the steward on duty.

Barnacle the ships’ figurehead
Barnacle sadly never went to sea. He has been extensively renovated and is king of The Link, between the Cottage and the Stables

PHOTOGRAPHY

We’re happy for you to take photos inside the museum – do share them with us on social media!

However, please don’t use a flash, as this can damage some of our items. Also, photographs should be for your own personal interest, and not for commercial / business purposes.
