You are going to love Exmouth.
With a population of 32,972, Exmouth is a must-see destination in England, United Kingdom. Exmouth deserves at least 2 full days for you to see its main sights plus of course our Museum.
Exmouth Museum and Heritage Centre is proud to be a WAY MAKER (southwestcoastpath.org.uk). The South West Coast Path (SWCP) is 630 miles long and is the longest established National Trail in the country. Starting at Minehead in Somerset it runs along the coastline of Exmoor, continuing along the coast of North Devon into Cornwall. It follows the entire coastline of Cornwall, goes across the mouth of the River Tamar and continues into Devon. After running along the south coast of Devon it then follows the Dorset coastline before finally ending at Poole Harbour.

During the summer months we were given the opportunity of being part of the Tesco Charity Blue Token scheme. Customers were asked to put blue token in one of the fojur charity boxes and at the end of that particular scheme the tokens would be counted grants were given out accordingly. Our grant allowed us to purchase items to protect our photographs and a screen so we can display the films we are having converted to digital.
A big thank you to Tesco for allowing us to be a charity to receive this as we stand to receive a huge grant from them with your support over the next three months. Shop at Tesco and support your local museum. Thank you
Arts and Culture East Devon (ACED) Volunteer of the Year Award
Every year Arts and Culture, ACED, celebrates the outstanding contributions and commitment of dedicated volunteers in the East Devon creative sector.
The ACED Volunteer of the Year Award recognises an outstanding contribution to culture for any volunteer who has gone above and beyond their role.
Volunteer and steward coordinator, Jacky Stockhill, nominated Peter Hayes, our Accreditation, Grants & Fundraising Officer, for an award. and on the evening of 5th June, the nominees were invited to an award presentation at A La Ronde, Exmouth.
Jacky described Peter as an amazing man in all that he does for the museum. He has only been a volunteer since September 2023 but in that short time he has moved the museum up into the 21st century with his knowledge and contacts with the computer world. He works endlessly getting and finding grants. He hosts a monthly quiz at The Wings Bar to raise funds as well as organising various other fund-raising events in the town.
Not only does he do all this, but he stewards two shifts a week in the museum too. She used three words to describe Peter Outstanding, Helpful and Friendly.
